Blog Entry #6 The Finale

Its been real, its been fun.. But it hasn't been real fun! ;)
Oh just kidding! I've actually enjoyed sharing my thoughts with the few people who read my blog! I like blogging in general. It feels good to write down my opinions and be given feedback and responses. I feel as though I took the blogging thing completely serious. I always wrote down everything I had on my mind about the topics I was given to write about. I tried my best to make it appealing to others! Can I say I learned anything? I think I learned that rhetoric is extremely important when it comes to writing. I wouldn't want anyone to get bored! You have to spice it up a little!! As an assignment for an English class, I think this was a great idea! I think it really puts a cherry on top of the rhetoric idea. I learned how to add my own tone and voice into my writing. Blogging is like practice and the essays are the big game!

Professor Chris, I must say, thanks for making me blog. To me blogging was homework without feeling like homework. I never really dreaded doing a blog and that's awesome! I liked that I could express myself and not have to feel super professional. Suggestions I might have.. Maybe make things more interesting with some sort of contest. Students might get more into blogging if there is an incentive. For example: The person with the most comments on their blog or the person with the most blog views gets some extra credit! Just and idea! Regardless, I liked blogging!(:

Byeeeeeeeeee!

Fooooooood.

Well since we've been talking about food lately, I would like to voice my dilemma with food. It's a dilemma that I know a lot of people have! How do you choose between life and eating healthy? Trying to eat healthy is hard freaking work! Especially when you have work and school! If you have a social life too, forget about it! Why can't I just have a personal chef who cooks for me? That would make life WAY better! It is so much easier to go through a drive-thru or pop something into the microwave. Actually preparing food and cooking it takes forever! AND healthy food isn't cheap!  You read all the bad things that go on with our food but we eat it anyway! Life just gets in the way!

Yum! Healthy food! But who really wants to take the time to cut everything up and prepare it? Not me! Ain't nobody got time for that! That's why I need a personal chef! Someone should just cook for me. Thanks! I'm sure there is healthy food that are quick but that takes time to research! Maybe I'll just quit school and focus on my food! ;)

OHHHH. I'm also addicted to ice cream... Why can't super yummy food be healthy?!

Blog Entry #5 Well That's Just Gross..

After watching that absolutely disturbing video about pink slime, I have some words. I'm definitely disgusted! I can't believe that our government is okay with letting their citizens eat something like pink slime. That cannot be healthy or good for a person in any way. This left over meat, or whatever it is, should be thrown away not recycled! The man in the video said it was filled with disease and bacteria. Companies get away with using it because they clean it with ammonia?! I'm NOT okay with that!! That's not exactly something you read on the package when you're buying meat. "Contains pink slime that was cleaned with products you can find in your house" People should be aware that's what they are getting! Its an outrage that companies care more about money than the health of Americans.
How are we supposed to know that's what we're buying? How do we avoid buying such a disgusting substance? The world today is seriously messed up!

Can you look at a burger the same after watching that video? I sure can't!!!

Broke College Kid.

Have you ever been somewhere like the mall or any old store where you see something you REALLY want? Then you look at the price tag and realize that this item you want so dearly just doesn't seem to fit into your sad college kid budget? Well, that happens to me all the time!! Working at a retail store makes things 10x worse! I get to watch people buy things that I want but don't  have the money for! Its a hard life out here for a broke college kid!
When you go to a restaurant what do you order to drink, water of course! Ain't nobody got money for a drink! Being a college student is a hard life. No wonder so many people drop out. Its tough! Trying to balance school, work, sleep, and a social life is just about impossible. If only we could all be trust fund babies! Since that's not exactly possible, I guess we'll have to stick to our little budgets and eating nothing but ramen!

Blog Entry #4 Food Inc.

Usually when I look at food I think to myself, "Yum! I can't wait to scarf that down!" Well, after watching Food Inc. I find myself second guessing my food choices. If I've learned anything from that movie its that humans suck. Why did we have to go and ruin such a good thing like food? The fact that we "engineer" food just doesn't settle right with me. We're human beings, not robots! Our food should be real and natural not genetically engineered! That's not okay!

The other thing that's unsettling about our food industries is how they treat animals. Its extremely inhumane and seriously depressing. Although we do eat these animals, they still deserve to be treated nicely while they're alive! No animal should have to sit in their own feces! How can companies even begin to think that's okay? I can't even believe how poorly they treat chickens! They never see sunlight and they are too fat to even walk! NO! That's so wrong! It would be so nice if things could go back to how they used to be. Back when old ladies would go outside and sprinkle food on the ground for her chickens and cows could roam freely and eat GRASS! Big business ruined everything.

Good!
BAD!

Our world needs to seriously change if we want to stay healthy and living as long as we do. Big businesses need to realize that a person's health and the well being of our society is more important than all their money. Makes you wonder if the businessmen that sell these products and know how they're being made, even eat the stuff?

Kids are adorable!

I happen to live with the two cutest children in the whole world! I wish everyone could see what I see on a daily basis. My two nieces do the cutest things and I love it! Being able to watch them grow and learn new things is just amazing!

These little girls light up my day! When I have bad customers at work, coming home to these little sunshines make me happy!

Blog Entry #3 Wall-E

For those of you who have seen Wall-E, or at least watched the clip, know that it's a little far fetched. I really enjoy the movie and think it's super cute but it is a little ridiculous. I don't think it is possible for us human to ever become like that. I could imagine some people but not the whole human race.
I think its unsettling to think about people becoming that way. I couldn't imagine being that big or just sitting for your whole life. I would miss walking and moving around. I know I'm not alone on this thought either. My butt starts to hurt when I sit in the same spot for too long!
There is some subtle truth about the clip though. In today's society, we are addicted to our technology. Hmm, technology.. Seems to be a trending topic lately. I see people constantly on their phones and their faces glued to the screen. In the clip it shows two ladies right next to each other talking to their screens. They're basically skyping each other while they're next to each other! That's insane! That would never happen. I like Skype but I use it when I'm miles and miles away from someone.
The whole food in a cup just grosses me out. Could you imagine? I'm sure it wouldn't even be real food! All I know is that this whole idea is just crazy. There may be lazy people out there and there may be people addicted to technology, but that doesn't mean everyone is. There will always be people out there being active and there is always going to be people who don't care for new technology. In the end, Wall-E is just a cute movie about robots falling in love! (:
